I met Chris Shaw early, around 7am for his landscape photography course. The morning was very cold -6 as we started to photograph high up above Hathersidge. Its a sublime time of day, with the sun rising the transformation around the rocks and surrounding landscape made getting up early worth while.

Having a camera to capture the moment made it even more enjoyable for both of us. For Chris, it was a new experience, both getting up at an unearthly hour and taking landscapes.

But he was enjoying it and time was quickly passing by. We headed off after 1.5 hours to another location, just as beautiful but with trees in the viewfinder and got to grips with a number of techniques.

After lunch we spent sometime photographing water, this was one area Chris wanted more tuition in and he was soon getting pleasing results.
